Weekly Weigh-In

Welcome to the Weekly Weigh-In!  I was a little worried about this week’s weigh-in.  Not because I was afraid I hadn’t done well, but because of my sneak-peak on Sunday.  I usually do a mid-week sneak-peak, just to make sure I’m on track.  I did that on Thursday and was down, but, then, I stepped on the scale on Sunday morning, on impulse, and was up a bit.  So, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I know I was going to be very disappointed if I hadn’t lost.  After all, I was very consistent with adding running into my walking routine last week.  All week, I had walked for three minutes and run for two on my 30 minute walks.  I wasn’t able to maintain that on my two one-hour walks — I did run about the same amount of time as my 30 minute walks, but I couldn’t maintain the 3/2 routine.

I have kind of a love/hate relationship with running.  I enjoy the extra calorie burn and the way I feel when it’s over, but it’s tough during the actual running part.  So, if I’d been consistent with that and hadn’t seen the results I was hoping for, I was going to be very disappointed.

I was happy, though.  I lost 1.8 lbs.!  That doesn’t quite put me back where I was before last week’s unexpected gain, but it was a good loss, with my currently weekly goal being 1.5-2 lbs. lost each week.

This week, since we’re on Christmas break, I’m going to try to be consistent with adding 15 minutes to my 30 minute morning walk.  That should help with all the extra calories that are usually available at Christmas.

How did you do this week?

  1. Just getting started here, so no loss, but I'll check in next week! Great job on upping your workout. Running – I can't picture running right now, but I'll get there.

  2. I haven't checked in with your blog in ages, but I'm glad to hear you're still on your journey! I am currently down about 20 lbs. Not *fabulous* considering how long I've been working on it, but I'm pleased all the same. I was stuck at 19 lbs for almost a month, so I'm glad to be over THAT hurdle!

  3. (And I'm about to get out there and shovel more snow because THAT is what I think helped get me over that 20 lb mark. As much as I hate to admit it.)
