Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’ve all had an amazing week. It has felt like spring here again for the most part and our local groundhog has predicted an early spring. I hope he’s right! Does your area have its own weather-predicting groundhog?

We’ve been plugging along with school, covering the basics but really letting the kids pursue their interests. Josh was telling me something about computers the other day and I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about. He gets an A for his computer class! lol

After working through the problems he had right after Christmas, I’m confident that he really does know his stuff. Now he’s saying he may rebuild an old computer that’s been sitting in the garage forever.

Why? Because he can.

We got a new wireless router this week. It’s an awesome feeling to feel completely confident handing it over to your kid to set up (not that setting up a wireless router is complicated, but still…). Of course, I guess at 17 he’s not so much a kid anymore. {sigh} I told him that I really miss my stepdad, who passed away in 2001. He was a computer geek. He and Josh would have had so much to talk about.

Peanut is very stingy with the rawhide bones. There was supposed to be one for each dog.

Megan sang lead for the first time in youth worship Sunday night. Not only was it her first time leading, but it was a new song, too. She was really nervous about it, so I was very excited to get the text, “Mom, I nailed it!”

I wish I could have been there to hear her.

Belle, the puppy, is getting so big! She’s already taller than Peanut, but, y’all, she is so clumsy! Maybe it’s because she’s all legs and ears. One day this week, I was sitting in a chair and she had her front feet on my knee to be petted. When she went to get down, her front legs went out from under her and she fell right on her face.

The very next day, she was coming up the stairs in our garage. They’re just unfinished stairs, so they’re open under each step. She missed a step and the whole top half of her body fell through the opening. It wouldn’t have been funny if she’d gotten hurt, but she didn’t so it was hilarious.

Poor, clumsy dog.

  1. Puppies are so funny in that stage! And I love her one ear up; Daisy still does that and even though she’s about to be 10, it still makes her seem puppyish. 🙂

  2. Our groundhog, Punxutawney Phil (from teh Groundhog Day movie) predicted 6 more weeks of winter for us, although I’m not fully convinced winter has even started yet, considering that we haven’t had even one significant snowfall. Hopefully, he’s wrong! Your puppy is adorable. She reminds me of my oldest son’s puppy, Robin.
