Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! How was your week? Mine was crazy! (I seem to say that a lot. I would not survive what some people would consider a crazy week – you know, the people for whom my crazy weeks seem mild.)

The tardiness of this week’s Weekly Wrap-Up should be a good indication of how busy the last couple of days have been.

I’ve got to be honest and say that I don’t even remember much about Monday. Tuesday was a cram-things-in-before-I-pick-my-niece-up-because-the-rest-of-the-week-is-packed kind of day.

Wednesday started with a call from my niece. She had missed the bus and needed me to take her to school. Fortunately, Megan and I had dental appointments scheduled, so I was already up. I took her to school and got back with enough time to get Megan and I out the door on time.

I got a pet divider and a cargo cover so the Belle could go for rides in my car. Saturday was a gorgeous day so Megan and I took her on an explore at a local nature trail.

The best part about our trip to the dentist was that I had to be there for some other dental work before my cleaning and our hygienist’s 9:30 appointment didn’t show. Since Megan and I were already there, she went ahead and did our cleanings and we were on our way home before Megan’s scheduled appointment time.

Thursday morning, Brianna had to have some oral surgery done. She had to be there at 8:00. That’s early, y’all. I mean, I’m always up before 8:00, but not dressed and ready and at some location other than home.

We got back home around 10:00. Brianna, who had to have general anesthesia, crashed. Megan and Josh were still asleep. The house was quiet and, thanks to room-darkening curtains, dark so I decided a power nap before I had to pick up my niece was in order.

Brianna couldn’t take Belle to her training on Monday, so Brian, Megan, and I went. Apparently, the dog needs her whole pack there. She’s been too nervous to do much training the last several weeks. She did much better this week, but got very agitated when Megan stepped out of the training area for, literally, about two minutes. When Megan came back (because Belle was stressing), Belle acted like she hadn’t seen her in a year. Crazy dog.

Megan, my niece, and I went grocery shopping after we picked her up. Then, we had to make a run to Chick-fil-A to get Brianna a milkshake – perhaps the only upside to only being able to eat soft foods. Then, it was home to put away the groceries, straighten up the kitchen, run the dishwasher, and start supper.

My sister and my older niece came over for dinner. So did Megan’s best friend. I had to agree with Megan’s assessment of the evening – it was a little chaotic at first, but lots of fun. I wish our house was set up better for entertaining.

After supper, I unloaded the dishwasher, loaded it and ran it again, and washed the supper dishes. It was a busy day.

Spoiled is not even the word for this cat.

Today, I am ready for a nice, quiet, relaxing day at home. I’m playing catch-up with my online work and things around the house before Brianna’s fiancé (it still seems weird to say that) gets here this afternoon.

They have some errands to run together then we’ll all have dinner together tonight. The jury is still out on whether I’m cooking or we’re going out. I’m leaning toward going out but I confess that not leaving the house all day sounds like a good plan, too.
