Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’ve had a great week! Ours has had it’s ups and downs, but overall it’s been good.

Today, my baby girl turns 17. {sigh} Where does the time go, y’all? She has a friend visiting from out of town. It’s a boy. Seriously, why can’t my girls meet boys who live near us?! He seems like a really good guy, though.

Because obviously, we set up the air mattress for them.

Our big disappointment for the week was yesterday when we got cost estimates for our remodeling project. Dang, y’all. I knew it was going to be expensive, but it’s much more expensive than we anticipated.

So, now we’ve got to decide where we go from here. We’re looking at ways to reduce the cost and considering if we want to increase our budget and, if so, how much we’re willing to increase. We’re also wondering if we need to look more seriously at moving. Fun times.

It’s been this kind of week.

Schoolwise, not much has gone on this week. I usually try to schedule a break week around the kids’ birthdays since they’re spread out throughout the year. This year, we waited a bit later to start school, so just the end of the week was supposed to be a break. But, the first of the week was so crazy and busy, we didn’t get much done.

I guess Megan will have to really dig in next week and do some catch-up. I’m so thankful for the flexibility of homeschooling.

He seems to think he’s human.

Did you catch my review of Apologia’s Health and Nutrition course? We love it! If you didn’t see the review, go check it out because there’s also a giveaway!

That’s it for me this week. I’ve got to go spend time with the birthday girl. Have a great weekend!

  1. Have you checked on competing bids? Someone else might do it for less.

By the way, I indirectly mention you in my article linked up today… your article from a few years ago about your daughter wanting to head back to public school and square pizza being one of the reasons… was one of the first articles that helped me this week when I did a random search on the internet! I had already resolved to do a pros and cons list, among other things, and reading your words were God’s way of showing me I was on the right track. Thank you!! My older two never had even an inkling of desire to go to go back to public school. So this was a new spin for me with my youngest! I’m happy to report it is going great now though 🙂

Thank you for being such an encouraging homeschool blogger!

    1. We haven’t checked yet. Right now we’re looking at ways to cut the costs. That may be something we wind up doing.

I’m so glad that article was helpful to you and that things are going well now!
