After a particularly sweaty run a few weeks ago, I decided that I had to find a sweat-wicking headband that would keep sweat out of my eyes and the sweat out of my face. I’d seen some really cool ones at my last 5K, but of course I hadn’t asked anyone where they got theirs.

After fruitlessly searching Amazon and asking on Twitter, I did a Google search and was thrilled to find Bondi Bands. Billed as the “no slip, no drip” headbands, Bondi Bands are made using stretchy, sweat-wicking, breathable material that makes them the perfect solution to my “sweat in my eyes, hair in my face” problem.

Possibly even better than that, though, is the seemingly endless choice of fun slogans. Featuring slogans for cyclists, runners, rowers, yoga enthusiasts and more, you can do everything from show off your distance accomplishments (or be reminded of your goal every time you look in the mirror) with a 5K, 10K, 13.1, or 26.2 band to champion your cause with a pink “running for the cure” band.

Bondi Bands are inexpensive – most are only $8 – and it is so nice to run without those little wisps of hair falling out of my ponytail and sticking to my face. One one really hot run last week, I did still have sweat dripping in my eyes, but I think that’s because I wear the band pretty far back on my head. That’s where I like it, but I’m trying to learn to wear it lower so it soaks up the sweat.

They’re easy to care for, too. You can wash and dry most of them (some of the lighter materials that are more for fashion than function require hand washing), just don’t use fabric softeners on them, which is true for all sweat-wicking materials.

In addition to the headbands, Bondi Band offers sweat-wicking hats, ponytail hats (with a hole for your ponytail), neck gators, sweat towels, swim caps, buddies (for your dog – hey, he wants to be stylin’, too), and baby bands for kids.

If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know it’s not my nature to be offensive, but the slogan I chose seriously made me laugh out loud because it so fit with my thoughts about running, something I never, ever thought I’d do.

I’m sorry, but I think that’s the perfect slogan for me running, be it a 5K or the half-marathon I’m training for. I never, ever thought I’d love to run.

  1. I would love a chance to win this. I must have an odd shape head because things like this always always end up sliding off. I would love to see if this would work for me.

  2. I would love to win this – I need something to help keep the sweat out of my eyes now that warmer weather is here!

  3. That is so much how I feel about running! Unfortunately I need to lose about 70 lbs so I am starting the Couch to 5K next week. Actually a modified Couch to 5K, I need the first week to be a bit easier so I am adding an extra week.

And it is already hot here (Texas) so these would come in very handy!

  4. I would love to win this and wear it for my workout with my trainer.  I think it's hilarious, and quite frankly how I feel when I work out….
