Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you all had an amazing week. Thankfully, mine was much less eventful than last week. After such a chaotic week last week, I was actually excited to stay home and clean house Saturday.

Yes, you read that right. I was actually looking forward to a day at home cleaning and doing laundry.

Wednesday, we did this:

I’m not sure I’m ready for this, y’all. {sniff} Brianna found a dress that she loved. I thought she’d look for awhile, so I made her wait a couple of days to think about whether or not she wanted to look some more before buying.

We have an appointment to go back this evening after she gets off work so she can try it on again. It’s probably the one, though. It’s beautiful. She’s beautiful. {sigh}

The next big thing on our list is choosing a venue. Andrew lives a couple of hours away, so we’re trying to decide whether the wedding will be here, there, or in between. It will be in February 2019, so it’s got to be an indoor facility.

I think Brianna and I will both feel better once we get that worked out.

The oldest princess and the youngest princess hanging out

School-wise, it’s pretty much the same ol’, same ol’. That’s not a bad thing. It just means nothing terribly exciting to share in my Weekly Wrap-Up posts since my teens are pretty much doing their own thing.

Megan took her last in-car driving lesson with the defensive driving school on Tuesday. They went on the Interstate again. She actually enjoys driving on the Interstate. It doesn’t stress her as much as the backroads do.

That’s okay. They both stress me enough for both of us!

Sharing family favorites with my niece

I would say that I wish I had some more exciting stuff to share, but after last week, I’m really glad to just have a boring, mundane week to tell you about. Now, I think I’m off to enjoy another quiet weekend at home.

Don’t miss my giveaway for a family registration to Great Homeschool Conventions 2018. They’re going to have five locations to choose from next year!

  1. What an exciting time for you and your daughter! I can imagine how bittersweet it is for you. And I know what you mean about it being harder to write about our high schoolers. I was just saying the other day that people probably forget that I have two in high school because I always talk and write about my younger kids. It’s such a different stage, but it’s nice to see them being independent. 🙂

    1. Yes, it is wonderful to have independent teens! It makes for a boring Weekly Wrap-Up, but I’m kind of a fan of boring. lol

  2. Congratulations again!
Are the gel clings homemade? (if so – how did you make them?) That is a great picture of the two girls at the window?
Also I totally understand about teens and less homeschool excitement – unless mine are playing an instrument or tap dancing, I don’t really get a front row seat to what they are learning. Not as much as when they were little!

  3. As I’m homeschooling my last child, I’m becoming sad that this is my last go-round. How fun to have your niece over so that you get to relive some of those great books and activities!
