Weekly Wrap-Up: The one with a start date
Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you all had a fantastic first week of December. I’m not sure I’m ready for winter. Can we just skip to spring?
What’s Happening in WUHS World
Well, after complaining about it last Friday, we got some exciting news. Our bathroom remodel starts on Monday! I don’t know what changed, but I got a call last Friday night to schedule a time for our pre-construction meeting. Maybe they read my blog. {grin}
The boys are getting so big!
The general contractor and our project specialist came out Tuesday to go over everything. We’re still not 100% sure about the bathroom layout. They’re going to get the attic area framed in so we can get a better idea of how much space we’re going to have.
I know it’s not going to be fun during the remodel (6-8 weeks of sharing a bathroom with the kids), but I’m so excited to finally be getting started. At least we don’t have to start sharing a bathroom right away. They’re going to do all they can in the attic area before putting out bathroom out of commission.
We still don’t have our Christmas tree up. I’ve never waited this long, but I’m not especially excited about keeping Josh’s puppy (and probably Belle and a few cats) out of it. I did decorate the fireplace mantle, though.
I love the way it turned out with our matching stockings (Last year, I managed to find 3 more to go with the two snowflake stockings we’ve had for almost 20 years.) and the new garland I bought last year.
From the Archives
Can you believe it’s been a year since Adrienne shared the signs that you’ve been homeschooling too long?! I loved that one – probably because I’m guilty of most of them myself. Love me some kombucha!

Kris Bales is a newly-retired homeschool mom and the quirky, Christ-following, painfully honest founder (and former owner) of Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers. She has a pretty serious addiction to sweet tea and Words with Friends. Kris and her husband of over 30 years are parents to three amazing homeschool grads. They share their home with three dogs, two cats, a ball python, a bearded dragon, and seven birds.
I love Christmas trees, but some years are just harder than others. I remember one year when we had a puppy and baby, the tree went up three days before Christmas and came down Christmas afternoon. It was all we could muster.
Blessings, Dawn
That may be us this year. {sigh}
